In order to provide access to programs running in Admin mode and UAC screens, like Task Manager, Parsec runs a Windows Service on your computer. This service is always running, and it will run in the background even when Parsec is not running. Teamviewer and other remote desktop products also run services like this.
This Is the Parsec Service Running in the Background
When the Parsec Service is running, it is just waiting for messages from the Parsec Application. If that program is not running, the Parsec Service will not process data. Parsec had to go through a process and verify our business with Microsoft and DigiCert to have the ability to run a Service.
You can always disable a Service from within Task Manager. Please note, however, that a Service cannot restart itself. Once you do this, you'll have to manually restart the service in Task Manager.
To disable the Service, visit the Services tab of Task Manager and right click on Parsec and choose Stop. The Status of the Service will then appear as Stopped.

If you disable the Service, you will not be able to log in to your computer via Parsec, access Task Manager, play games running in Admin Mode, or access UAC screens like the one below.
