How to set up Two Factor Authentication

Two factor authentication is an important security feature that we recommend you enable on every website you're registered with. On Parsec, you can enable two factor authentication on the account page. 


In order to set up two factor authentication, you'll first need to create a Parsec account. 
You can do this from 

 On the account settings page, you'll see a blue button that says "Enable 2FA". You'll want to click on that button, which will then prompt you with a QR Code, you'll need to scan this QR code using an authenticator app such as Authy or 1Password. Once scanned, you'll enter your password, and the code provided in the authenticator app and click "Activate". 



Next you should receive an email confirming that 2FA was activated : 


After setting up two factor authentication, you'll want to make sure you set up a recovery email, this ensures if lose access to your back up codes, or your two factor authentication app, you can recover your account : 


Finally, all that's left to do is login, once you enter your username and password, it will prompt you for the two factor authentication code, once you enter that, you'll be logged in and brought to the Computers tab of Parsec!
