This error occurs when you have attempted an action that requires authentication, like connecting to a device or adding a friend, and Parsec deemed that you must re-authenticate to complete that action. An orange message will be shown at the top of the Parsec interface, and you can click "Authenticate" to authenticate.
Parsec will deem that authentication is required in different situations depending on your type of account.
- Free or Warp customers: Free or Warp customers must re-authenticate devices every 30 days after logging in on the device
- Parsec for Teams customers: Teams customers have two settings that can affect the need for authentication
- IP Verification: An aditional security feature where, if we detect an IP address that has not previously been recorded for this user account, Parsec will request re-authentication. Learn more about IP Verification and how to configure it
- Client Session Duration: It is possible to set how long a user session is valid after login before re-authentication is necessary, and by default, that is 7 days. Learn more about the Client Session Duration setting
