Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an important security feature that we recommend you enable on every website you're registered with. On Parsec, you can enable or disable 2FA on the account page. The guide below shows how to enable it, then how to disable it.
How to enable
- Log in to your Parsec account page.
- Click the blue Enable 2FA button underneath your name.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, for example Authy or 1Password.
- If you're unable to scan the QR code, you can type in the secret key manually, located below the QR code.
- Enter the code generated by your authenticator app.
- Enter your Parsec account password.
- Provide a recovery email, in case you need to reset your 2FA.
- Click Enable 2FA.
-
Click Download Codes.
- These backup codes are extremely sensitive and important. They can be used in place of the TOTP codes generated by your authenticator app, for example if you lose access to your authenticator app or codes. Store your backup codes in a secure location.
How to disable
Two-factor authentication can be disabled at any time by clicking Disable 2FA. You must provide your Parsec account password in order to disable 2FA.
