Why the host is muted

Parsec automatically mutes the audio on the host computer when an owner connects to it, to prevent audio from being heard on both the host machine and the owner's Parsec client.

Unmute the host

You can manually unmute the audio from the operating system's audio icon at any time.

Disable automatic muting

1. On the host, open config.txt in your Parsec directory:
   • Windows: %appdata%\Parsec or %programdata%\Parsec
   • macOS: /Users/Shared/.parsec/ or /Users/USERNAME/.parsec/

2. Add this line:

   server_admin_mute=0

3. Save the file.
4. Restart Parsec on the host.
