This article will guide you through configuring Toon Boom harmony to accept WinInk input (eliminate issues introduced with Wintab) but allow all other applications to continue to utilise Wintab.
To configure Toon Boom Harmony to accept WinInk input please follow the below steps:
- Connect your Wacom to the client machine and within Wacom tablet Properties ‘Mapping’ section ensure that the WinInk radio button is enabled.
- Connect to the host machine and ensure that within the Parsec host settings that the vUSB ‘Virtual Tablet’ setting is enabled.
- Open Wacom tablet properties on the host and follow the below steps:
- Within the 'All' applications option of Wacom tablet properties ensure Windows Ink is disabled.
- Within the 'All' applications option of Wacom tablet properties ensure Windows Ink is disabled.
- Within the 'Applications' menu select the plus symbol.
- From the window that opens select the browse option, then find and select the Harmony exe file (Standard install of Harmony 2024 - C:\Program Files (x86)\Toon Boom Animation\Toon Boom Harmony 24 Premium\win64\bin\HarmonyPremium.exe). Once selected please press OK to close the browse window.
Alternatively the location of the Harmony executable can be found by searching for the Harmony application in the search bar, selecting the ‘Open File Location, right-clicking the Harmony shortcut, selecting properties and then copying the ‘Target’ file path.
- Within the new 'Harmony' application section of Wacom tablet properties ensure that WinInk is enabled.
- On the host machine open Toon Boom Harmony then select Edit>Preferences>Advanced, disable the 'Use QT Wintab tablet Support' and restart Toon Boom.
